Default ??? for those with Lightweight Flywheels

I have the Nismo Flywheel and I know about the chatter which I have no problem with.

But I have been noticing that I feel a lot more through the clutch pedal than before and not sure if that is normal or if I have an issue with the install. I have had it since July and not sure if it has always been there.

If I have the clutch all the way depressed and rev the engine I feel a lot of vibration through the pedal, and if I am shifting fast and still have the revs up when I push the pedal in I feel the vibration but also hear a noise that goes along with the vibration, hard to explain but it is not a clunk kind of like two vibrating metal parts coming together.

Well, I think I can safely say I have the lightest flywheel in the Z community. 8lb Tilton w/ 7.25" cerametallic 2 disk clutch.

what you are experienceing is normal. when the clutch pedal is out, you hear chatter, when it is in you dont. when you rev it you hear chatter so much that you feel it in the clutch, i can feel it in the whole car.

Some times it is louder then other times, some times it is completely quiet when the clutch is let out but loud chatter when the clutch is pushed in.. its weird... but nothing to worry about I think...

Keep us posted on your feelings of it!

Sounds to me like a throwout bearing problem. The bearing that spins on the clutch and pushes it away when depressing it. I had the same noise in my Prelude. Turned out to be a throwout bearing defect and Honda replaced it for free.

I dunno... Have you had clutch work done in addition to your flywheel?

No it is the stock clutch, when they pulled it, it looked fine and when I heard it was good for more HP than I was contemplating in addition to not wanting added pedal effort I stayed with stock clutch.

Any other symptoms of the bearing going bad? Is there an effect on shifting?

I will see if anyone else around here has a lightweight flywheel and check it out.

I also have the Nismo Flywheel and clutch assy (until the Tilton Street Clutch comes in). Mine also does exactly what your talking about and I notice it as well.

Knowing how the new flywheel feels, would you do this mod again?

Sorry to hijack, but I'm thinking about this upgrade and don't want a 'rough' driving Z.

I went the upgraded clutch on one of my bikes and its a beeatch in traffic.

The flywheel won't affect driving as much as a NISMO clutch. I would do it again.

I can live with the noises, just wanted to make sure they were normal. I only have the flywheel and the Nismo is not intrusive on your driving and I would definetly do it again.
