Hey quick question.. I saw in the pix that you put a smaller flange on top of the manifolds original flange?. why did you do this? if you don't mind me asking.. is it to fit the current turbo? or to place it differently? if so wouldn't it restrict? it looks like the flange is smaller

from the article.

"The GT35R has a t3 flange and unfortunately the new headers have a t4. An adapter is available, but would push the turbo to high and interfere with the hood. Not a problem for tony though. He welded a t3 flange onto the new headers and angled it so the turbo outlet does not hit the coolant flange and allows a filter to be put on."

Seems nuts to put a smaller flange instead of getting a T4 housing. That turbo is tiny as it is and will choke out even faster with a T3 flange

How much power are you looking for if you don't mind me asking? I didn't see it earlier but will recheck.

Why wouldn't you just swap the turbine housing out for a t4? They do make them.

honestly, i just had that turbo sitting here and i told tony to make it work...later on down the road i am going to be doing a much bigger turbo setup...but this turbo is just for getting it running pretty much right now...the turbo should still be good for mid 500ish hp tho...im hopeing

But now you will have to take the manifold off, cut the flange off, and then weld a new t4 flange onto the manifold. Just seems like a lot of backwards steps when a housing is cheap.
