build the motor. you'll get some sufficient power out put. then if you still need more i am sure you can save to upgrade to a turbo.

but in the long run don't waste your money. my Z with bolt ons still beats a lot of other worked Z's. LOL

I vote you slap a turbo in there lol. The stock de motors can handle a significant amount of boost, hr can handle a lot more, but your de should be fine running 400whp no sweat. If you are worried about it you can just run 350whp all day long.

I say this bc my Z has basically every bolt on there is excluding test pipes/hfc which is coming next, and I can tell a difference, but I still want more. There are tons of threads about what our engines can handle in the forced induction section. Go check it out if you are serious about boost.

4K is not going to get you anywhere near a turbo and/or a supercharger.
Check your prices. If you do come up with enough cash, you stock motor
will handle a single turbo set up such as a Momentum with no problem.

to buy a kit, have it installed, have it tuned your not gonna do it for 4k..the only way ur gonna do it for 4k is to buy a used kit and put it on yourself and then have it tuned..That would put u around 4k...To do things right you will def. need more than 4k...

THIS!! Any shop that tells you otherwise is just plain lying to you. Unless they meant they can do the install and tune for $4K if you bring them all the parts. Care to share the name of said shop?

Just so you know, VQ's are made of glass, so I wouldn't let a shop that isn't VERY familiar with our platform near the car.
