Cusco RS making a lot of noise when turning
Hey Guys,
I have a Cusco RS that is making a good amount of noise when turning in a parking lot with just a slight amount of power being put onto it.
I thought maybe it was set to a higher lockup percentage since I bought the pumpkin used and have no idea what it is set too. I have taken it apart and have learned it is set to 1.5 way and 60% lockup. So it's not the lockup that is causing this.
I'm also using Motul 90 PA fluid which I hear is suppose to work pretty good. I was thinking of maybe changing the order of the clutch plates (keeping the pattern the same for the 60% lockup) but swapping out the clutch plates so there would be some new mating surfaces. For example if this was how it was:
1 2 (3 4) (5 6) (7 8) 9 10
and plates in ( ) are the ones in pairs stacked beside each other I'd have them swap places to give a new surface of the clutch disc exposure to friction and have it go like this:
1 2 (4 3) (6 5) (8 7) 9 10
I've also thought of just trying regular oil for the rear end and getting some of that positrax's stuff from Autozone for I've used that in the past and had good luck but dunno.

Exact same thing for me, fresh Motul 90 at the beginning of the season, by the end shes clackin around pretty good. Thats how I know its time for new fluid.
Oh snap, had less than 500 miles on the first Motul 90 fluid before pulling out the rear to check what percentage of lockup it had in it.
