ok so heres my update the good bad and the ugly
not too many pics but here we go
finally got around to geeting the intake pipe made
a week ago we were finishing up the wiring for the coolant relay switch and accidentally shorted something out and fried the relay box.
got a new one ordered and luckily nothing else was toast other than the box.
coolant fans now come on and off on their own.
finally the tach was shipped to me.
didnt finish installing this tonight because we still need to run signal to the coolant gauge to get that to work and find the wire for the tach signal which is the pink wire on the ls6 harness i believe.
i sent my shifter back because it was not shifting in any forward gears.
sikky told me that when they recieved it it worked fine on their shopn vehicle which has a gto t56.
i have a ls1 camaro t56 personally i think there is more differences in these transmissions than just the shift linkage piece.
after they sent me back the shifter i reinstalled it, it would stay in 1st gear about 30% of the time it would not stay in 3-5 but R about 50% of the time. i am going to remove it again and attempt at modifiing it to get it to work properly
worst case i screw up a shifter that doesnt work and i have to order another junk shifter.
i did drive her today and she gets in in 1st and 2nd gears
the IAC hasnt learned properly yet and from time to time it would just off after throttle.
finally got all the heat wrap real hot and it stopped smoking
should be done with the finished product soon!

well ladies and gentlemen i have a ground breaking yet devistating update.
I officially fixed the sikky shifter issue.
but that being said after speaking with sikky they said that doing this can void any warranty on the shifter.
ill post pics soon of how to fix the shifter.
so thats the ground breaking part.
on to the devastating part.
after fixing the shifter issue it was on to taking my lady on her maiden voyage.
she was running great. shifting properly with no over heating.
made it about five miles and decided to see what she had made a 1st gear pull slammed second and just before third gear a pop. and the engine stopped.
popped the clutch and nothing.
pulled into the gas station and filled it up with some gas before attempting at restarting.
tried to start her and had no sign of wanting to fire.
luckily a friend was following and we went and picked up my diesel and pulled the z back home.
we started pulling the front clip off and i decided to try and crank the engine by hand and i couldnt even get it to rotate at all.
a big uhhh ohh..
we will be pulling the heads off and tearing down the block tomarro.
when i will post picks of what we find along with the pics of how to fix the sikky shifter. stay tuned.

so i got about half the motor torn down tonight. i have heavy gashes on all 8 pistons from the exhaust valves. i believe itsn from lack of clearance with the large cam.
i spun 3 rod bearings. due to the oil pump failing.
so i guess i need to finish tearing down the motor and rebuild for bigger and better things.
ill post poics tomarrow once full tear down is complete

SIKKY shifter fix.
step 1 install ls1 shifter linkage block.
step 2 drill 4 new holes to match ls1 stock shifter position. *measure the center line and and drill accordingly* have a machine shop drill it so the measurements are correct.
step 3 make spacer plate to correct the lever length from the ls2 to ls1 shifter block. spacer plate should be 12g stainles steal.
step 4 install and drive.
heres a few picks of my damage.
too much valve lift.
3 bearings looking like this one welded itself to the crank.
oil pan full of metal shavings
