ok finnallly for a small update before she is finished.

so we came to the conclusion that the stock tach will not work the can bus system is going to be too hard to by pass.

but for some reason the speedo works not sure why or how accurate it is.

so im pretty positive i am going to pull all the gauges and run after market ones which i am not familiar with trying to get them to work any suggestions or opinions or part numbers are welcome.

i ran the car for about thirty seconds and seems to be ok idle is kinda high but i figured it would be considering new iac new computer etc. it will prolly have to learn a little bit.

but today i am buttoning up the whole system and hopefully driving it home.

also i popped it in first gear while on the jack stands and under any sort of throttle it kicks out of gear i think the detents might be bad. i want to try it again with it filled with fluid and see what happens .

but where is my update

Here is some info for you for the gauges. The stock speedo works because it runs off of the ABS system which still works if you even take out the stock ECU. All of the other signals you will need to get from the stock GM ECU or aftermarket sending units.

I would suggest a Stack gauge cluster or equivalent they will come with sending units and everything you need to install it.

Something i noticed in your pictures is that you have the FPR wrong. You dont need a vacuum like connected to the FPR. You just need to set it at 58 PSI and leave it. Unless you are running boost it will see the vacuum and raise the FPR higher than 58 PSI.

For the shifter...... If you are using a sikky short shifter then send it back that is your problem. They sent me a updated shifter and had the exact same problem with it. Told them even sent a video to justin and they ended up sending the exact shifter i sent back to them but with the "updated goods" They have had alot of problems with these shifters.

are you sure thats the issue ? i have been reading that the shift dents need to have more tension on them and that fixes the issue?

im on all data trying to figure out if i can fix it at home or not ill keep posted.

but if changing the tension doesnt help ill be calling sikky

Yea when they sent me my old shifter back with all of the "new improvements" it worked just fine but for how long only time will tell and is why im getting rid of the whole kit all together. Just wait till you get to the dip stick issue as well. It sees crank case pressure and will pop up out of the tube!

I crimped it but still not a correct fix for the problem. Stop drinking for a week and you will have enough $ for a harness fool. and i can get one to you in two weeks if you need one.

you would just have to crimp the top of the dip stick itself to keep it from popping out

good news i diagnosed tyhe issue with the trans kicking it out of gear and it is a shifter issue.

diagnosis steps
1 remove shifter
2 put it in gear
3 start up
4 let clutch out

after those steps it didnt kick out of gear so i believe it is a issue with the sikky shifter which is a bummer cause the shifter is so pretty but not fuunctional

will be having words with them on monday

Small quick update

The car moves

But ran into a few issues was finishing up the wiring for the coolant relay and something sparked and toasted my relay circuit board but a new one has been ordered.

Got the tachimeter ordered and the new circuit board ordered.

Was having issues with the sikky shifter it kicks out of gear under any sort of throttle so the requested i ship it back

So currently im in wait mode

I think the speedhut link and info is in my thread somewhere.

Also, make sure you put a bead of some sort on your radiator hoses or you are daring them to pop off on you.
