Default Time Sensitive. 05 non Rev DE into '03

Will an 05 VQ35DE non rev up. Non anniversary car engine fit into a 2003 MT car? I'd like to get this engine in ASAP and keep tracking the rest of the season.

Backstory: I recently had an engine failure at the the track.
I planned on swapping in an LS. But I found a $600 05 non anniversary engine I could just drop in with my buddies to keep rolling a while longer.

Problem is the wrecker said it won't fit my car. And he called the dealership in front of me, and they said no it wont fit either. Different part #. I know Nissan changes part numbers with years like I change pants so...

You know how it is, you are sure you are right, but when people who seem to know what they are talking about are so confidently saying it won't fit you doubt yourself.

I have no idea why it would not...

It should swap in easy. If you have to gamble - buy the motor and sell later if wrong - $500 is too good to pass up.

I am sorry i don't have a definitve answer...

If your specs are right, and it's an 05' DE non-revup, i don't see any issues with fitment, should be the same thing.

05 Anniversary MT got the rev-up

i dont think there would be any problems. same engine. it wouldn't exactly be an expensive mistake either way.
