2008 g35x sedan pumpkin in a 2007 350z
So my buddy is selling his 2008 g35xs pumpkin off his g...
It has 3.69 gears and was looking to do this upgrade soon. I've read the thread that the g35s works with the 350z with small pinion shaft and dust shield modifications, or with the manual trans it bolts right up.
Now I want to know if this punkin will work with those modifications to my Z. It's an 2007 hr with vlsd, I know the dust shield cover will have to be swapped and most likely the pinion shaft cut but after that will it work? Any knowledge will help. Thanks

i've done this swap before. only do this if you have a 6mt 350z. that pumpkin is a bolt in as is IF it came from the 6mt g35x sedan. i've only seen 6mt version of this car in the yards from my experience. before you mount the 3.7 pumpkin, there is a difference that you must notice. the g and z sedan are different with the passenger side bushing where it bolts up to the sub frame. z passenger bushing is SOLID rubber filled. g sedan is not, it's soft and not full rubber filled. i highly suggest filling this with some liquid rubber to dry. when you full throttle without having that mount solid rubber, the differential twist and moves about an inch and half. the problem with this is if you have a true dual exhaust, the axle flange will drop down while in motion and cut into it. you will hear and feel it when it happens, it's LOUD.
