Mishimoto Oil Cooler
Hey guys,
I am considering picking up this bolt on oil cooler kit for my 350Z. I do some weekend track and autocross and would not like to run into problems. This car is also my only form of transportation at the moment.
Has anyone used this particular kit? I like the fact that I do not have to worry about making any brackets and the video makes the install look pretty easy.
Here is the kit I am referring to: http://www.mishimoto.com/03-09-nissa...ooler-kit.html
Any information will be helpful, this would be a neat Christmas gift for me.
Thanks

I followed this diy: https://my350z.com/forum/engine-driv...r-install.html
I have not had any issues and it was cheaper than the $510 in the link you posted.

^ exactly, thats the universal deal.
They will perform the same exact function essentially, the benefits of the kit mishimoto made specifically for the Z are the premade brackets and mounting location, pre-lengthened oil lines, routing intructions, the sandwich plate and hardware included so the extra money saves the headaches for somebody who wouldnt want to dive into a 3/5 (IMHO) difficulty job. Also, need to fund the engineers' Ot for the R&D involved lol...

You are probably an above average DIY'r for tackling a universal oil coller. Yes, its just lines sandwich plate and mounting but that is more "custom fab" than some people would trust themselves with. I always treat people as if they have no basis; not to be mean, to make my responses as detailed and accurate and comprehensive as possible.
In general, a person who maintains a car, replacing wear items, and checking them periodically, is the standard foundation i give an poster, in which i think a 3/5 would be more fitting. For you or I maybe a 1.5/5, OR we just see "5" as not all too difficult, depending on hw you want to weight the scale.

I lack the time and tools to put together a clean looking bracket setup. Obviously it would me less expensive if I could, but I think the price is very nice for something most people can install.
