Hi Power ECU out of Japan?
Ran into this on the web. Anyone hear about it yet?

won't work with U.S. spec
they use the same tuning program as Technosquare anyways, I don't see why people are in constant search of new ECU's when it's the same thing tuned by the same program. the only thing that matters is the tuner which there are 3 around the U.S. currently. Technosquare being the most popular.

The biggest difference is that whether it's just a flash or tunable. I perfer tunable for future mods than going back and getting a new flash everytime. And doesn't TS only have like 3 or 4 different flashes? but the ts isn't that bad of a choice.. just not for me.
"3 or 4 different flashes" isnt particularly true....
they have custom maps for pretty much any combination of modifications currently available. you just have to tell them what you have on the car now, and they will adjust the maps accordingly...
tunability is nice, if you constantly change mods that your car's performance will be constantly changing... but once you have it set, you're probably not going to change it. you'll spend time on the dyno doing pulls and what not to get it to a point where it works well with all your mods, and you'll probably stick to that setting.... with a flash, its the same deal, except that the flashes are already set at the optimum performance levels, no real need for dyno tuning unless you have something extraordinarily different than everyone else... upload and you're done. a reflash also changes not only the fuel/air/timing changes but a whole lot of different controls of the car... even if you do go boost, having to reflash the ecu is minor on the scale of difficulty or labor intensive tasks that is needed for aftermarket FI.... having a system-wide controlled tuning (system reflash), with everything working together is better in reliability and "piece of mind" than just changing one aspect of the system (fuel piggy-backs/timing retarding systems) and hoping it wont conflict with other system inputs...

none of the plug and play solutions for the Z are user tunable.
All the ecu's currently offered by the Japanese firms (there are around 20) use teh Techtom software, which is exactly the same as theTS based ecu's (as mentioned, done by a handful of places in the US right now) .
