that sounds normal....
listen to another car after it's been driven around a bit... it will probably make the same noise...

If that's not the noise you're talking about... can you be more specific?

If the exhaust is fairly new , It's normal.. after driving around a bit fresh new steel gets hot and actually expands, there for leading to a cool down when the metal is shrinking and this causes the tick sound.. It's OK it should go away soon..

I had the exhuast for about a month, but when i just got it on and installed it never made any noise like that before. And the ticking noise is fairly loud, i cant tell where extaclly where it is coming from but definetly the exhuat itself. Do you have that problem mr. b ?

I know I dont have a Z yet but heres an answer to the problem. I have the same problem with the aftermarket exhaust on my integra. All it is is the metal contracting while cooling down. I kno its annoying(well it is to me) but its nothing to worry about. BTW my exhaust has done this for the year that Ive owned it and there hasnt been any negative effects.

My car, with stock exhaust, still does that after I run it hard(like everyday). Guess it is the exhuast, least I hope it is, lol.

But i noticed this ticking sound is also ticking while my engine is on, so its not just turning the engine off. Do you guys have this sound while engine is on to?

Haha, don't worry about it. Mine does that too every time I run it hard... meaning all the time.

Do you put silencers on? My car made the same ticking noise with my Injen exhaust, but only when I had the silencers on. Took them off, and no more ticking.

Mine did it with the stock exhaust and now does it with the rsr exhaust, so there is nothing to worry about.

I always notice a ticking sound so im not too worried about that but once after running hard, there was a popping sound coming out of the exhaust after i turned off the engine. It kinda sounded like popcorn poppping or sort of like slightly muffled balloons popping, anything to worry about there? btw this is on stock exhaust.

I have the same exact issue guys. I guess its just normal then.. its been worrying me too. IT seemed to have gotten more prominent after my car accident last year... I never really noticed it after that... but if its from the exhaust and so many of you are having it, then that eases my mind a little. I hear mine while my car is on too.. its weird.
