I'm interested in this dyno, but I would like to see a dyno on a bone stock car with the plenum.

I'd love to see the dyno too...

One thing: to isolate the gains from teh design of the plenum and to exclude the gains that maybe had from having a cooler (plastic) material, can you make sure that the stock plenum is cooled before the dyno. In myexperience this accounts for 4-6 hp (have tried this consistently on the 4 dynos that I have done on my car and it is always true).

Guys, this is a valid consideration. we really want to know what the design does to the performance and not the better materials used.

Point well taken, but....I suspect that the type of material, if it can cause a couple of HP difference, is something to be considered in real world driving. Ah, more things to ponder.

The material used is a major part of our design to create a better plenum, so I think it should be taken into account.

To make an accurate comparison, the car should be warmed up for equal amounts of time prior to dyno.

Some other tidbits about the plenum.

Stock plenum weight is 9 lbs, plastic plenum is 5 lbs.

The plenum pictured is the very first one out of the mold, so our color pigmenting is off, hence the gray color instead of black.

The future plenums will definately be black.

I will be doing some surface temperature tests tomorrow and will hopefully have some results by the same time the dyno results come back.

I will also be posting some design techniques we used in the plenum by the end of the weekend, to shed some light on what we focused on.

Good luck tomorrow with the dyno!!

Sweet!

Any group buys?

Or maybe discounts for buying hi-flow cats + Plastic Plenum in a package?

What's with the triangle? The Nissan badge is round, the Infinit badge is round, am I supposed to put a Pontiac badge there?

LSD, what's the material? It looks like PP from the pic. Are you concerned about flexing under negative pressure? I guess we'll find out tomorrow.

Best of luck, and I expect a 65 rwhp gain!!!

We are expecting a small amount of flexing through the center section under full throttle. We are not really concerned with this though as it won't affect performance, nor the longevity of the plenum.

The material is very versatile. We can change materials, or go with slightly different versions depending on how it performs under the hood. We think the material we have chosen will work well though.

Thanks, and all kidding aside, good luck tomorrow at the dyno. I've got my checkbook ready, waiting for a good result!

How well would this plenum work with lets say.... a 100-150 shot of nitrous... any thoughts??

Thanks

Most people will probably say that's a bad idea. Kinetix is going to have a forced induction plenum coming out pretty soon as well, I would hold out for that if I were you.if you do all NA mods and have some etxra HP it shouldn't be a big deal, but if you are doing anything forced you should hold out.

OK I'll be the first to ask today...

Where's the Dyno already? It's 5 am out there, did you take in a double feature?
