Then you've got the wrong feeling. It's always a good idea to concentrate on what you've got to do to make the thing work, not what everyone else thinks about what you've got to do. And you've got to repair, install, and dyno the plenum. That's a pretty full plate, especially with 50 people nipping at your heels over the results.

Welcome to my350z.com!

The heat will be on when you do stuff like this. We should know.

By the way, how was the flow on the flow bench?

When we do an official release, we will be posting specs like intake temperature differences, weight, flow , etc.

Generally I wouldn't even be posting so much about the first prototype of the plenum, but with all the support and questions, we thought it wise to keep everyone updated on every step all the way to release.

Remember that we are keeping you informed of every single stage we go through. This actually makes us very vulnerable to skepticism. Where else can you see a future product's photos of the very first prototype and any problems we are having with it. We are not hiding anything here.

So we enjoy all types of feedback, and noone should be bashed for being over supportive or should they be bashed for be skeptical. All the opinions and feedback are taken into consideration and both positive and negative remarks help push the product to release.

I never said they were mechanical. I said there were five revisions, which there are. Obviously, the visual aspect of this part is just as important to a lot of people as the performance. So how does your statement carry any weight now, buddy?

I don't mind being one of the first to test this new part. I usually envy those that are the first to have new things and get to know jsut about every aspect of the new products. I have been following this thread for a while now and have purposely not purchased the crawford piece in hopes of this one working. Obvoiusly the materials are proven as they are used stock in other vehicles. I will gladly put my name among the first to try this new plenum out. How many others out there are attempting to design and manufacture their own parts of this magnitude? Not many. Sure we can all make our own grounding kits, but this deserves some deifnite recognition. Even if you don't plan on purchasing a new plenum, it is fascinating to watch the development and creation of a part like this. To lsdunique, thank you for your efforts and look forrward to installing the new plenum.

LSD, I have done my damndest to stay out of this fight in this thread, but I have to jump in. I speak for many, many people when I say thank you for offering such great quality products, and always doing it at a price where even broke college students can afford it. There will always be haters, always doubters, and always the people that stand on the sidelines and point out flaws. Personally, I am more than willing to take the risk of being one of the first few with the plenum (as discussed), because I trust your craftsmanship quality, and if anything were to go wrong, I know you would remedy the situation. Your attention to this thread and the manner you handle yourself under feeble attacks is simply a statement to your character. Once again, I thank you for all of your hard work and excellent communication, even in the face of disrespect.

-Wren

ps: if you don't like the plenum, why poop on the thread and waste the space for people that do like it?

Ehhh, this is getting ugly. I say admin should lock this thread until lsdunique chooses to post results.

lsdunique, I applaud you for your efforts. You seem very responsive to the masses, maybe too much so...it might have been better to keep this under wraps. People are getting jumpy. Oh well, what can you do.

Crawford's response was a little immature. I expected more. I am sure they are watching this thread closely, though. Please note: I am neither pro nor anti Crawford. I have never dealt with them (or Kinetix). IMO, the more quality products that various companies bring to market, the better.

Well, I do not see how asking for flowbench results is immature. There are others that continue to make stupid remarks about Crawfords product even though they pioneered the first aftermarket plenum. They too have been innovative and have made the latest version pretty damn nice looking. Granted maintaining the stock strut bar is definately a plus for many people, Crawford still deserves a lot of respect for what they have done and continue to do for the Z community.

LSD has got a great product on the horizon here with this plenum. If everything works as planned this could be a very popular piece. I am still trying to vision what it will look like on the engine. I think it will be a love/hate thing. Some will love the look and some will hate it. I currently like the look of the powdercoated plenum I have now, and am considering the latest polished version to get ready for some local car shows, but the possibility of painting this plastic plenum has me thinking. Once it has been on a car and dyno proven, then there will be another option to consider. Only a couple more days.

I'm tired of being Strung along waiting to see Results for this. Maybe there is a problem and they have to Stall us for a while until they get things right? Either way I would have waited until I could provide Dyno Graphs proving this thing works before opening my mouth...

Not me. I like the way it's been handled. Keep in mind that this was a volunteer (all_bark) who decided to add these mods and independently dyno for all of us to benefit. I like peoples' opinions and assistance. If you're tired of it, then forget about it for a few days--watch the super bowl and drink some beer--then scan the forum again.

Thank You. That’s exactly what I was going to say.

I was responding to Tater (Fly by Z). Being a member here I can post on any thread I want to and comment in any manner I want. I never said anything bad about lsd's work. The few comments I do make I hope people realize I am just here to help the community whether it be the consumer or the vendor.

You can say you did not mean any harm by posting those comments, but I found myself yet again having to clean up the misconception. You can say:

I never said they were mechanical. I said there were five revisions, which there are. Obviously, the visual aspect of this part is just as important to a lot of people as the performance.
but only after I cleared it up from your original statement.

Now like others have said, I dont like taking lsd's topics off track. So lets drop it.

I know that. The "thanks for playing try again buddy" comment was what I was referring to. Obviously asking for flowbench results is legitimate. It was perfectly clear to me that Fly By Z was not making a negative comment. He merely said there were revisions to the product. But you could have simply said, "yes, but keep in my mind the revisions are mainly cosmetic" instead of getting so defensive. I guess I don't blame you for getting defensive in light of all the support for Kinetix yet-to-be-tested product.

I think Crawford makes good products. But your comments on this thread make me less likely to want to deal with your company. Personally, I expect vendors, especially professionals, to act professional and above-board, and not stoop to petty comments. Nothing personal, and nothing against your products. I really don't mean this in a negative way; just constructive I guess.

3 posts on this board and you're already stiring up trouble and telling people what to do. I'd recommend keeping your poor opinions to yourself.

It's a good time for NA. Competition has brought us a new option, a nice visual redesign of an already popular part, and lower prices for both. LSD could've joined "secret project" bandwagon and kept all these last stages of R&D in the dark, but chose to work with the community in getting it done in front of everyone.

Even a company as big and internationally well respected as Greddy blew a few engines behind closed doors before their product hit the market. It's the nature of product development, and you've apparently got zero experience.

You're ignorant comments are in poor taste and have no place here.

^agreed with zxsaint.

yammy1, not only are you a poor excuse for a 350z owner, but also a poor excuse for a resident of Alabama. Please take your negative attitude elsewhere.
