lsd, Have you had any issues tightening the TB bolts to stock tq #s? Just wondering how well the threads will hold up with some tq being applied to them.

i havent followed this plastic plenum thing everyone is excited about but aside from the fact that unlike the crawford plenum it will still be able to use the factory strut bar, what are the other benefits? Will the price be that much less than the 395 the newer crawford is going for? what exactly does a plenum cover that this one can be made of plastic without any negative effects to it or the car?

thanks, if this is as good as everyone is making it seem and i wont have to sell myself to get it ill be in for one as well

TTT means "to the top" when someone wants the thread at the top of the page, they just put TTT

The Benefits of a plastic Plenum is less "heat soak". Less Heat means more HP. The LS1 motor has a Plastic intake (Camaro, Corvette, GTO). So does the Nissan Titan, and a few other cars I've seen

Since we will all likely be swapping out our plenums as soon as f-ing possible, can someone post some step by step instructions on how to do it?
Thanks..

Thinking back, I cannot recall any other product that was more eagerly anticipated than this plenum.

Im sorry but I have to ask. Does this plastic plenum just replace the top half? or does it replace both top and bottom?

Another upside to this plenum is that it may be possible to sell the OEM plenum to some like ... say Crawford Z Car for $200.

There will be no core exchanges, so you can keep your factory plenum if you ever want to go back to stock.

It will be priced under $400 for normal pricing and we will most likely be doing a group buy for the first month.

Another benefit is the seamless construction of the inside of the plenum and it is completely smooth.

We are working on our pressure chamber this weekend and should have it completed by mid next week which will allow us a completely bubble free production piece wchich also increases its strength.

We will be doing tests on achieving the recommended torque numbers for the bolts so there will be no guessing. We will also be including some new hardware with some instructions where everything needs to go.

I wouldnt worry about the threads, because we are using metal threaded inserts, so you wont be threading into plastic at any point.

Yeah that baseline torque figure did seem kinda high...

all_bark, please make sure to pull the negative off the battery while installing the plenum and put some miles on it before doing the dyno run. I really believe in giving the ECU time to make changes. I'll have proof of this to be revealed in a week.

So do you think that this piece is smaller than the crawford's. I know we all are still waiting on dyno #'s but I would think if it is smaller it would give a little less top end power towards redline then the crawford.
