auto clutch vs manual clutch
are the clutches the same on a/t(w/ sport shift) and manual for these cars?
like if i seen a kit from act for manual would i be able to get it for auto and it fit the same?
i cant seem to find any info on this subject, ive seen a lot about the a/t mostly being how people like/dislike it vs m/t or someone swapping to a m/t from auto
i tried looking up clutches for a/t but none said they were specifically auto
and does anyone knows (if they are different) where i can get one for auto?

If you're thinking of going AT, look up the transgo valve body upgrade & 3.7 FD gears. When I've got the spare scratch, I'm doing gears and a Quaife LSD. The gears won't help you dyno numbers, but you'll be able to take better advantage of the power you do have by accelerating a lot faster. You'll lose a little top speed, but how many times will you top out your Z?

maybe my info i got from evom forums is wrong cause thinking about it all autos should have a torque converter not a clutch right? does same thing just in bit of a different way. idk about the 350z and thats why i asked, at least i looked for the answer and didnt find it unlike noobs that come here posting dumb ****, yeah this is a kinda dumb question but too late now, honestly i cant believe i didnt think about the torque converter though
and fyi ive owned an eclipse and a lancer es before this car, i learned a bit from those but theyre nothing like a v6 sports car
also i plan on going the N/A route, i dont want 600whp like most. im looking to get 3-400whp i know N/A ill be lucky to get past 380 and im fine with that, if at that point i need more ill get the supercharger, but FI seems a bit unstable and these cars are so powerful as it is having TT seems unreliable to me
only reason im asking this question was for when i get to 300whp cause i will need to upgrade the tranny so it cant handle the power and not break every other day, so the "clutch" seemed a great place to start for transferring power safely
so then A/T with sport shift mode and lsd has torque converter?
i thought the "upgraded" torque converters were like stall converters where it wont go til you push it to say 2500 rpms? or is that just an option over getting a stronger torque converter?

can someone delete this thread? after searching through torque converter i found what i was looking for, and there is other threads on here about this subject, at least you can gain this knowledge from the other threads i havent seen one say this directly but this thread seems redundant, i apologize for making it, but these answers are out there.
sorry again guys.

LMFAO
- You don't need to upgrade the clutch packs on the 5AT for an NA build. You won't be making a big increase in torque like you would with forced induction. The OEM clutch packs should be sufficient.
- I hope you don't think you can achieve 300+whp NA with just bolt-ons. 300whp on a 5AT might be possible with a lot of engine and powertrain mods (fully built NA motor, head work, aftermarket intake manifold or ITB's, significantly elevated redline, etc), but you won't get anywhere close to 400whp due to the additional whp loss with a 5AT vs a 6MT.
- If you insist on upgrading the auto trans for an NA build, a TransGo valvebody upgrade and aftermarket torque converter will suffice.
- Just to give you an idea of the uphill battle you will face... My bone stock '09 370Z with 6MT made 282whp on a Dynojet. Getting there NA on a DE motor with a 5AT will take A LOT of work and $$$.
