Default Clutch recommendation for VQ35DE TT setup

I am in the process of researching a suitable clutch that is both streetanle but also capable of handling abuse at both track and strip. My power level will be right around 600ft-lb and I am not looking to spend 2+k on a clutch which I know limits my options for a twin.

From what I have read abut twins, the more disks results in less clamping force and less pedal effort. Not sure on wear between single vs. twin but I understand that the material used on the disk will influence this.

I originally started looking at the Z1 Motorsports Twin Clutch because it had an attractive price of around $1,300. On their website they state:

"conservatively rated to 700 ft / lbs of torque to the wheels, and has been dyno tested at Z1 to over 700 rwhp. For even more power handling we offer the option of the upgraded "Extreme" hat and plate assembly. This upgraded clutch offers holding power up to 820 ft / lbs of torque to the wheels. The upgraded hat and plate assembly does require greater pedal effort and is more aggressive."

Two different sales people at Z1 are telling me it is not suitable for my power level which completely looses me when researching clutches as I am only looking for a clutch to support 600ft-lb.

I have also looked at the OS Giken setup with Forged and they recommended a twin OS Giken Twin - Part #: OS NS111-BF6. They said to stay away from the Grand Touring series. OS Giken does offer a really nice clutch but they seem a little pricey for me. I was hoping to stay around the $1,300 price range.

I came across zspeed and their Southbend clutches. I spoke with someone there about what I am looking for. He suggested their single disc setup with a 6 puck disc and increased clamping force with their steel lightened flywheel for around $1,200-$1,300. Only problem is the amount of pedal effort that will be required and I am also concerned about engagement with a single 6 puck as I used to have the ACT six puck.

Does anyone have any other recommendations or experiences with these clutches that you could share?

Does anyone have any experience with Competition clutches or using the "Competition MultiPlate/Twin Disk Clutch? The part # is 4-60452-C and they rate this clutch at over 800ft/lbs.

I can pick this twin clutch/flywheel up for $1,076.40 shipped which is much for reasonable providing it supports my power level.

Just add an RJM Performance AFP clutch bracket and your working the clutch pedal will be far far far easier, even with six puck clutches.

Ryan, the guy that owns RJM is top notch in every way, can't recommend him enough as I've dealt with him multiple times with many dialogues.

Hope this helps,

Thanks for the suggestion. I linked two clutches so are you referring to the competition clutch or the z1 clutch as being garbage?

Thanks for the suggestion but looks like the Carbonetics twins are around 2700 now which is much more than I was looking at spending. Looks like a great clutch though.
