IPDM Replacement Relay Part Numbers
Hey Everyone. I wanted to share some information I dug up.
I had a cooling fan issue intermittently and tracked it to the signal leaving the IPDM.
I opened up all three cooling fan relays and noted that the contacts were corroded.
To prove theory I took a jewelers file and cleaned the contacts inside and tested again.
Everything worked, just need new relays. Diagnosis made!
After calling the dealer and being told I had to buy the $620 IPDM as an assembly I laughed.
They don't sell replacement relays for some very bass-ackwards reason.
Seeing as there are only 2 different style relays in the IPDM I refused to bend over for that one.
I decided to dig and get my relays.
Long story short I found a replacement part numbers and they're Jideco/Nissan OEM.
Cooling Fan Relays (3)
25230-7996A - Cooling fan relay from a 1997 Altima
The next style relay in the IPDM
Smaller bodied relays (8 in tiotal) for ECM, fuel pump, fog lights etc...
284B7-CW29E - ECM relay from a Titan
I ended up finding both style relays on eBay for $5.00 a piece!
So for $55 swap all the relays in your IPDM and save some serious scratch.
Call it preventative maintenance, relays do go bad and there is never a good time for it to happen.
Since discovering all of this I have disassembled the entire IPDM down to the main board.
Very simple inside and internal corrosion can be cleaned with rubbing alcohol and a soft toothbrush.
It's not likely that the circuit board inside the IPDM will fail before a mechanical relay.
Any questions on my diagnosis or findings let me know.
Enjoy guys!

Hey Nissan...
Great post and information. When inside of the IPDM, are there more relays on the board? For the life of me, I cannot find the Tail Light Relay that the service manual refers to on 37 different occasions!
Yes there certainly are a efw relays inside the ipdm but your not going to be able to replace those unless you know how to work a soldier i think most people would create more problems honestly ive tried soldiering circuit boards fuse blocks insturment clusters all with minimal luck
Hi It sounds like you have been inside the IPDM. Are the relays internal to the IPDM in sockets? or are they soldered to circuit board. do you have any photos or diagrams of the ipdm circuits and components. thanks for any info you may have.
