Default 06' 350Z timing chain (VQDE)

Hi,
I have about 69000 miles (112000km) on my 06' 350Z. I was wondering, what is the time interval to change timing chain? I cannot find a sure, 100% confirmed info. It costs a lot but if that's what I have to do, then I'll do it, although I wish I didn't have to. I don't think I hear any chain noise.

Thanks. But that translates to "replace if needed" which tells nothing. If I paid someone to check my chain I would replace it anyway because opening engine up would cost me way more than a chain.

the chain will whine when it needs to be changed, the plastic chain guides are what makes all the noise, you shouldnt need to replace it for a while. probably closer to 100,000 miles or so

You can inspect them yourself by taking off the cover for the water pump.

Isn't timing chain deep in the engine? Is that just a simple cover? Any tutorial?

I already looked up because I was really confused by what you're saying. It's A LOT of work. Mind you, I park my car on the street. I don't have a garage

i would recommend changing your timing chain at 200k miles.

timing chains never really need to be replaced like timing belts. it usually outlasts the car.

i bought a g35 engine and the seller told me it had 105k miles on it.....i took apart the entire engine and built it with forged internals myself. when i was looking at the timing chain i didnt see any real wear on it i replaced it for peace of mind with another used OEM timing chain that i got for like 20 bucks that supposedly came off a 350z with 45k miles on it. I didn't feel the need to buy a new timing chain since its quite pricey.

The answer to this question is you simply DON'T need to change the timing chain. Period. OP has mentioned none of the symptoms (noise, vibration) which would indicate a new chain would benefit his VQ one bit.

Thank you all very much for making me not spending money on an unnecessary cost.
