Default Idle and oil pressure.

2006 interlagos fire base model with 158k.
My 350z is idling at roughly 500-800, it started happening out of nowhere and it used to sit around 1000 before.
The pressure gauge also looks fairly low, close to the 0 when idling.
Thanks!
Anything you guys suggest i do?

What is close to zero?

Like this close to zero?

Oil pressure is dependent on temperature. When it's cold and thick the pressure will be around 60-80 psi when on the throttle.

When it's warm and at operating temp it should be around 30-60 psi. But it all varies.

As far as your fluctuation in idle 600-800 should be where it's at. 750 rpm being the target. See if you have air in your system. Also check the make sure you don't need an oil change, or are low on oil or have a oil leak and need a tune up.

See this thread there is some good replies in it. Actually where I took the oil Guage photo from as well.

Warmed up and at Operating temp this is my gauge.

If you think it is too low, check your oil level, if you haven't changed your oil in awhile, change it. Older the car gets and more miles, they tend to Consume more oil soo double check oil level.
Pretty much as long as you're between 0-30 while idling, you domt have to worry. When driving around 2,000rpm-3,000rpm you should be between 50-70psi. Under hard acceleration, under 120 but over 80 ish

Idle coule be vac leak if its fluctuating and not staying steady.

Typically, a vacuum leak will raise the idle slightly. Your Z is now idling where it should be..

- Do you have any mods?
- Did you get a tune?
- When was the last time you changed your air filter?
- Did you change the oil weight you run recently?

..just scratching the surface here.
