2004 Wobbly Shifter
Feels like there is a weak spring somewhere because the lever wobbles all over the place, going to dismantle it so wondering if there are any tricks to setting the lever up so each gear plane is definite and the lever is firm. Have a short shifter on order, the lever has been extended in length to be closer to the steering wheel. Tips?

Hey there, I think you've got a couple options. https://www.z1motorsports.com/transm...ng-p-7355.html
Or here; https://www.z1motorsports.com/trans-...g-p-10695.html
I'd look into the mtec, even though I'm not running them personally, but have only heard good things about them

From what the intrawebs says the MTEC springs would not be stiff enough when using a shift extension so I thought, look for some general purpose springs to see what's there. Eventually Century Springs C-736 were chosen for both sides but cut to length, original size 13 x 70mm. Hellava of a job fitting them with the gearbox still in the car because maximum possible length is needed to increase stiffness particularly with the left one, to fit the right one put the shifter into reverse, to fit the left one use 1st.
Result made it worthwhile though, with a 100mm shifter extension the gate has a much more positive firm feel. Might be a bit too much for a street car but mine, race car.
