No crank No start
Hello everyone I picked up A 2005 Nissan 350 Z for $700 the guy I got it from said he was driving and the engine backfired and everything shut off on him, I decided to buy it hoping I can fix it since my old Z was totaled I planned to swap the motors. So I got it towed here been fooling around with it put my old Z battery in it cuz his was dead, I turn the key it clicks if I turn it a few times it will crank for a half second then nothing all the lights are on the dash except for the oil psi light, and the clutch pedal is super stiff and I’m stuck on what to do I’ve checked fuses and swapped relays still nothing. I plan on swapping out the starters and see what happens if nothing changes does anybody have advice?

Holy run-on my dude!
Please, take a breath, calm down, and use punctuation and proper grammar. It makes your post much more understandable and you will be much more likely to actually get assistance.
Did he explain what he meant by "blew up"?
What clicks? The starter?
The engine needs 5 things to start, fuel, air, compression, timing, and spark. Depending on what "blew up" means, it's hard to say. If we are talking about a piston upper-cutting a valve, or a rod that's been blown clear through the block, then it may attempt to crank, but will not actually fire over. At that point, the engine is nothing more than a large paperweight and will require replacement. If we are simply talking about overheating, then it may still fire up depending on the extent of the overheating and subsequent damage.

Sorry dude, he told me he was driving down the road and everything shut off and the engine backfired and it wouldn’t start after that. The engine tries to turn over but barley does i can’t test compression with no crank

Start with a code reader as DK suggested.
I've seen situations where an unburnt fuel mixture exits the engine as it shuts down. The mixture ignites when it enters the exhaust system and causes a backfire. Not saying it's the case here, but a possibility.
Start with the basics:
- OBD Scan
- Battery check
- Blown fuses/relays
