Default Engine won't start after accident 2004 touring auto transmission.

Engine won't start after accident, when you first turn the key on, to start it, the service engine light does not come on at all. When you crank it over some times the light will come on then and it sounds like it wants to start, other times the light never comes on and it just cranks and doesn't sound like it wants to start. The other issue is I can't get it to talk to a scanner? Bad ecm? Some safety mechanism keeping it from firing from the accident? I bought the car this last weekend after it's sat for 18 months. The body control module seems to be working the windows roll up and down when you open and close the doors. Checked relays and all the fuses they are good. I'm down to thinking the ecm is not getting power or the power distribution box behind the battery is bad? Being it is intermittent, on the service engine light coming on while cranking over the motor I'm leaning towards the power Distribution center. Help.... and Thank you.

Unless the battery has been on a "tender" during 1.5 year storage it's probably crapped out. Take it to a parts store and get it load-tested (free) and go from there.

It has new battery, new plugs, but I'm not sure about this nats system, does the light on top of the dash, light up when sitting? I'm not seeing any light on top of the dash lit at any time. Trust me when I say I've got more time behind the wheel than the next 5 to 10 people, I drive 150k every year year in and year out, I bought this car for a project and it's turning into one. Looking for any insight to why the service engine light won't turn on when you first turn the key. Thanks. In advance

When the doors are locked by fob or door switch with key off you should see a red light on dash. Try the other key if you have one.
Also try a Google search "site:my350z.com nats"
