Default swap a DE into a 2006 body?

Hey guys. Crazy i know. My HR engine blew in my 2006 roadster, i’m swapping it with a spare DE just so i can get it running. I know it’s a back step, but i just need to know: what parts do i need to make this swap happen? I know there’s differences between the two, so what do I need to put the DE engine in the 2006? I have the ECM for both, just don’t know where to start.

Your engine is a DE revup, not HR. If I had to guess, you will need ECU, harness, BCM, maybe more.

So let me see if I can clear something up here that is mighty confusing....

Is this the same car that was crashed (and internally bent) in your other thread ( https://my350z.com/forum/engine-and-...ter-crash.html ) that you were trying to salvage the engine to "put in another car"? Yet, this thread seems to say that you're trying to replace the supposed HR that you have in the ZR (despite bent frame) with a DE engine. Which is it??

Please get your stories straight for the benefit of those who can help you.

Dude chill. I have an 05 roadster with the DE, which is said vehicle from the other thread. The engine is salvageable. I found an 06 roadster for very cheap with a blown HR engine. I’m going to swap the HR out of the 06, and put my 05 DE in the 06.

Read it a little more clearly, and with a lot less judgement, and you’ll see that I specifically said this in the second to last sentence.

And you'll note I said: "Please get your stories straight for the benefit of those who can help you."

Part of my job here is to untangle the messes so that people can get their problems solved. It was not clear what you were trying to do.

So if you want to take whatever is said as "judgemental" then you are in the wrong place. That clear enough?

Ah yes, the elusive HR engine in a '06. Some say they've seen it...

Doubtful. None of this makes any sense.
