I've been searching for hours, and I can't find it here or the FSM.
i recently completed the 5AT to 6MT swap. I kept the ECM and harness.

I have the reverse plug for the MT but I don't know what wire to tap into.

The car already has a backup camera that worked when I put the automatic into reverse, and I would like for it to work again.

There's a decent sized Green plug off the right side of the old transmission that has nothing to plug into on the new manual, from the FSM I believe it's called an A/T assembly Harness. But I can't for the life of me find a pin out guide.

I do not want to wire the reverse plug directly to the reverse lights because I'm sure that will not trigger the back up camera,

So which wire is the correct one to tap into?

The taillights directly will turn the camera on

In case anyone stumbles across this, I've unfortunately become somewhat of the "go to" guy for transmission swaps on 350z in my area...
Since completing mine, I've done 3 more...

Anyway, the answers you may be looking for.


The neutral position switch is pretty easy to find on this forum, it's pin number 43 I believe, a yellow wire with a red strip. Add a line to the 12v positive on the battery, splice it into the wire or cut it and wire it directly into the IPDM. Tomato TomAto.

For the reverse switch...
Run a 12v positive to one side of the reverse switch, the other side will go to your Reverse relay just infront of the battery on the left, when you pull out the relay you will see 4 pins, like this... (sorry I don't have a picture)

I took the wire, stripped it, shoved it into the female connector side, and shoved the relay back into place. Most beautiful solution? no. Did it work? Yes.
Back up camera and reverse lights both activated when the car was put into reverse. I called it a win and moved on.

If you have any questions, I can't help. I won't be using this account anymore as I have sold the 350z convertible (I bought it to flip it for a profit) made a killing off it since I swapped it to a manual and I will NEVER buy a Z again. They are ***** cars. Sorry not sorry.
