I went to auto mechanic today and they told me $80. I thought it was too much so I told him I would tell him tom if I would be installing it from him..I mean i would install it myself but I dont have access to a lift or jacks. Sorry dont flame me but i live in NYC so yea....so what is a reasonable price for a short shifter installation?

I just did it myself yesterday and took me about 3 hours.
But I also replaced shift **** with Nismo GT Titanium and new leather shift boot with red stitchings. I used a floorjack and jackstand, and it was a pain in the a$$ to crawl underneath the car and unplug the bolt. (Lots of twist and tweaking needed. It's pretty tight down there and damn hard to reach especially if you are using floorjack. It'll be hell lot easier with lift tho) It was the toughest and most time consuming job. Other than that, everything is a breeze. I think a qualified machinic with proper tools (lift, etc) can get it done in an hour. Maybe hour and a half at most. So $80 sounds like a bit high, but pretty much reasonable I think.
