weird nose
have you guys ever heard a squeeking nose when you back up? or another nose for example when you back up and shift your gears back to 1st gear then a clicking nose comes out for a sec? i get kinda affraid that my 350z my be a defect... but i dont think so cuz everything else is cool... please let me know if you guys hear the sounds too... thanks
If you're referring to the notchiness (and concurrent noise of) of the tranny, it's fairly common. I'm not too sure if the noise that you're getting is the same noise that I tend to over look, but I wouldn't sweat it unless it sounds REALLY bad or gets progressively louder. You could always go to the dealer (close to you Hanlees), but they'll more than likely tell you it's either normal, or they don't hear it. If you are getting a grinding noise, then you MIGHT have a legitimate claim for a tranny replacement.
Nice to see another Richmond-ite on the board

If then noise you are hearing is a tick tick or like a clicking noise, then yes, take it to the dealer. Their is a known problem with the rear axles. Some dealers are just tightening down the bolts and some are rebuiding them. You can hear the noise when going slow from forward to reverse and back and forth......
Could be as simple as the dealer knowing its the axles or a bolt that needs retorquing for the clicking noise, which is a known issue as j's350z stated. In my case the noise was being caused by the spring rubbing a rubber piece. If it's like my noise, it sounds like a bed spring creaking in reverse and acceleration. It took like four visits to my dealer in Torrance, Power Nissan for them to find . Props to Power Nissan, Torrance CA.
