Default Technosquare ECU a good first mod?

I'm stock right now. I'm thinking about getting the Technosquare ECU upgrade as my first mod because it addresses a few little problems with the car that bother me.

What do you think? Should I go for something else instead?

whats your end goal in modding? i would say its good if you dont plan on doing anything else. but if you plan on adding any boltons then do the ecu tuning after you add them or else it wont get the best results from them

Actually, that's about all I had planned on doing until I decide on a twin turbo system to install. I was even thinking of leaving the exhaust stock with the twin turbos. I know this will cause me to not get the most gains from the twins, but my goal is a nice boost in power with a very streetable and stock sounding car...somewhat of a sleeper.

you should at least just do an exhaust. get a nismo or borla. not that big of a difference like Injen or Greddy EVO2 soundwise, but it will definetly help gains. You wont really see any benefit of the ECU flash with a stock car, but after the TT install you might have them tune it. Save the $500 for an exhaust, you will be much happier.

the ECU would probably be one of the mods close to the end of your modifying cycle.

simply due to the fact that it can take advantage of what you have already done to the car and fine tune it.

if you are going TT but not for a while. then i'd say the added benefits of having the flash for that timing being would be good idea. (if your TT purcahse isnt for a year or so away, something like that)

ECU after mods... not before. If you get TT you'll have to reflash it again (a waste of time). Exhaust is a must for your car to breath and IMHO is a much better investment then ECU. Scrap getting anything else but Exhaust for now. Borla I too recommend. If you wanted a lil extra something get yourself a UR Pulley kit or even a plenum. That will tie you over until FI. BTW, Borla is a nice low sounding exhaust. It is a grumble and has a warm sound. When you go freeflow cats and the like you'll get much more noise.

a.) Go with the Borla
b.) Stay away from all other mods until TT time for a nice sedated Z.
