Truth about the Ground wiring kit...
Heres the scoop:
Kit reviewed: www.Z-Xtreme.com (InSaNeAmine)
Cost for the kits: $75.00 each
Cost for shipping: $25 (for two kits, no combined shipping )
Actual cost for shipping FedEx 2-day: $15 total
Actual cost per kit (approx from Zeb.com wiring): $30
Laughing for a half hour at all the promised benefits: Priceless.
Here are the benefits listed from one of InSaNeAmine's posts:
1) - Faster engine start-up - You can feel the difference even with A/C on and at maximum fan speed. This system reduces the loss of electricity to nearly zero at ignition coil and produces better ignition spark.
2) - Stable idling - You will hear your car engine noise quieter than before.
3) - Smoother and faster -
4) - Throttle response - A max horsepower gain of 5hp and up has been achieved on a Honda Integra TypeR.
5) - Increase low & middle engine torque - It helps to achieve a close-to-perfect combustion at low or high revolution of engine, resulting in faster acceleration. A max. torque gain of 0.5kg-m and up has been achieved on a Subaru Legacy BH5.
6) - Better CPU Operation
7) - Better Mileage (my comment: I do not know about this one!)
8) - Cleaner Exhaust Gas - Lower density of HC and CO
9) - Brighter headlight output - Improvement that you can see. Thanks to a better alternator performance.
10) - Improve car audio sound quality - Improvement that you can hear. Thanks to an overall enhanced equipment performance including but not limited to: Car audio, power windows, power sunroof, etc...
Before installing them on the car, my friend and I laughed for hours stating things like "Finally a fix for Tire feathering!!!" and classics such as "Who needs to replace the bose, we have ground wires now."
REVIEW:
Shipping time: Good.
Quality: Excellent.
Directions: Fair, no pictures, had to go online and print them.
Fitment: Excellent.
Benefits:
1) Faster engine startup, - Seemed the same to me, my friend thought that his turned over faster. Noticed no difference with the A/C on than pre-ground wires.
2) Stable idling - It does improve the idling, it subdues the thump sounds after hard driving, they are still there, but definately subdued (This was the main reason we bought the kit)
3) Smoother and faster - Smoother?? Yes. Faster?? Nah. The car is more fun to drive with the ground wires on, believe me I'm a HUGE skeptic but the car IS smoother, low RPM driving such as reversing and creeping forward in first is MUCH better. In higher RPMs the car is much smoother, it does not 'buck' as much when at say 5 RPM and you let off the gas.
4) Throttle response - Yes there is a better throttle response this goes hand in hand with 'smoother'
5) Improving Torque - Can't feel .5kg anyway.
6) Better CPU operation - Can't say either way, maybe, maybe not, its not something we would notice.
7) Better mileage: Mild laughing started. No, still around 16-18 depending.
8) Cleaner exhaust gas: Moderate laughing. This is when we lost all control and laughed for 10 minutes, but no we did not notice cleaner exhaust gas.
9) Brighter Headlight output: Doubting the whole install laughing at this point Headlights looked exactly the same.
10) - Improve car audio sound quality - Improvement that you can hear. Thanks to an overall enhanced equipment performance including but not limited to: Car audio, power windows, power sunroof, etc: Lost all control, almost sold the wires on ebay before even putting them on the car The sunroof seems to open and shut the same as it did before the ground wires, since my Z (or anyones) can't come with one. (g35 i know i know) The BOSE system was replaced in both cars (touring) before the ground wires, but we feel it would have still been Blose quality. The windows went up same speed, gauge cluster lights the same, etc etc, was a great laugh though.
All in all, I was a real skeptic about the wiring kit, however it does make the car drive and shift a little smoother, sounds crazy I know, but both of us agreed it changed for the better it was 'noticable'. Remember these are just our opinions, but this is what we believe to be, the truth

You're a moron. I can't believe you are wasting bandwidth that someone pays for in order to post this trash, and I almost feel bad for contributing to the life of this thread.
You aren't even qualified to make most of the statements you made, such as the one about cleaner exhaust gas -- what, did you test it on an emissions machine?
PROTIP: Next time you write a review try, not to, use commas, in a completely, arbitrary, fashion, and also make sure that you, are qualified, to, speak on the subject, matter.
edit: I can't believe you actually thought the windows would go up faster. What a mongoloid.

Am I the one that claimed cleaner exhaust? No, did I say I tested it? No.
Did InsaneAnime test that the exhaust was cleaner? Hell no, and neither did I but why claim all this isht about sunroofs and crap? Basically my post is saying if you think your gonna get all this thats promised, don't, so I went over what you actually get.
And by the way, who is 'qualified' to make statements about any of the stuff on this board? People that say this exhaust or that exhaust sound better, are they exhaust experts?
Hey syf0n, the first thread I read today was about a Kinetix plenum that had massive air leaks, you started that thread. Did I get on there and call you a moron because you were talking about a version 1 but didn't mention it?
PROTIP: If your going to post about something, give all the details, otherwise people might think your a moron.

but for the price(Ive seen some a bit cheaper than 75$) its an overall fun and easy install, you wanna work on your car right after you get it, a nice bonding experience, the grounding kit satisfies that need.
people pay 50$ or more for little hose dressup kits and chrome nismo caps. why should this dressup mod be any different?
actual gains in some measurable way? Im skeptical, and I have a grounding kit.

That's a nice looking Brick Tim. First time I have seen it.
Sweet...
Oh yeah, I only use 3 of the 5 grounding wires and run it through the battery to the frame. I also use the plenum to the factory ground too. Anything more is sorta over kill but looks cool.
I have a Phoenix Gold pass through battery teminal cap.
It can't hurt and like Ares said it's a bonding thing. I did it myself and it felt good when I was done.
As for making fun of Guy the kit maker, negative.
I like him as a business man and he started the kits here and we all bought them for a smoother idle and looks. It's a year old story but we all knew it was basicly to smooth out the shifts and stabalize the idle and on my car it did that and Guy was very polite throughout the entire purhase pre and post install.

I bought mine from Insaneamine ONLY because he had a contest going that I could have won a Crawford plenum and I figured that the odds were pretty good. I didn't expect it to do a thing for the car...looks good though.

I personally thought the review was funny. It was positive too, with the *admitted* skeptics saying they did notice a positive change in some aspects.
If you don't like people sharing their opinions, please go join a militant terrorist group that also hates other peoples' freedoms and get killed by some SpecOps forces.
Thanks for the insightful and funny read.

I bought a set...I think they look pretty damn sweet. I hope they do a lot......but even if they do just 1 of the 10 things that they're supposed to do, heck it's worth it.
Did I mention they look sweet?

Supirio i thought your post was good all besides referring to Insaneanime in a negative way. But its a good write up, i mean NOT EVERYONE IS AS BRILLIANT AS THE GLORIOUS Syf0n, so for the newbies who just got their Z's and cant use the search option this is good stuff.
