I buy from performance, however, I have to keep you honest Thanks aLOT... now I have to sell my JUN flywheel because of that video. What's the road life of these types of clutch discs? Those things look flimsy. Looks can be decieving but at $150 or so a pop seems like they'd run out faster then some of your more pricey discs.

Sorry, usually won't challange a person on this Forum... but this got my attention. Most people know us on this board for our honesty about products. We won't sell anything we don't believe in, and we TRY and test most products on our own cars first before we sell them. We also give reviews good or bad... even on our own products. We have had these flywheels since mid last year and have ALWAYS said they are not streetable (until now). We would never want to ruin our reputation for a sale... it's just not worth it. Z's are my passion and being the Parts Manager of a Nissan Dealer working 6/7 days a week and 14 hours a day is all fun for me. Yes, I might need professional help, but for now it's all good!!

Do lightened flyweels work with FI setups. If yes what kind of characterestics does it have, and how much does a stock cutch weigh?

gg-model just drove my car... well see what he has to say when he gets his car out of here...

this disk's will last a long time when compared to some other racing set ups... i had my last clutch and fly in my car for just over 20000 miles... there was still alot of surface area left on the flywheel and the disk's were slightly worn... i could have kept it in for another 20000 miles im sure... still grabbed just as hard as day one...

this will defintly handle FI... more so then the other clutch and flywheel packages... this set up will handle more then 600ft/lbs tq & hp...

the carbon-carbon clutch is still the most durable of the set ups for street / race... but... the cost is a world of difference...

Jason, thanks for letting me take it for spin. At idle, the car revs to redline in about .2 seconds...no joke...instantaneous, like my motorcycle.

Clearly, the car revs much faster in 1st and second gear. In terms of the street-ability, this is personal preference. I only stalled it once, but it's definately snatchy, but no chattery. Essentially, it comes on quick, but it's not vibrating and chattering like his pervious clutch. With a little bit more practice, I'm sure I could make repeated graceful starts from a complete stop. You just have to give it a tad more revs. I noticed also that the shift is way smoother and faster, when compared to mine. The clutch pedal is actually as light, if not lighter than stock.

What someone needs to invent is a good 350z interior camera mount.

What non perfomance mods were you doing?

We got a new pressure plate from TILTON...

For those of you who are new... the TILTON Flyweel and Clutch is a 8lb Flywheel with a 7.25" clutch. The clutch I am talking about here has a 2 cerametallic disk's... Pictured below is my USED rally disk package with pressure plate and disks... the whole flywheel and clutch assembly weights 16 pounds... and the car revv's like a bat outta hell!

http://members.aol.com/performancenismo/tilton.avi

Video Clip!!!!

First impression when I got in my car...

The pedal was very soft compared to my last one even when it was new... So pressing down the clutch does not take as much effort as before... Softer then stock...

Now here is the thing... It is still VERY grabby because of the cerametallic disks... BUT... it is much easier to handle and easier to feather... I can still chirp 3rd gear with my 275/40/18's...

If you were thinking about this package I would start thinking about it again... It is very easy to get used to and I feel this one would be easy to drive even if you didnt drive with the heavier pressure plate...
Would your reference to "grabby" be similar to clutch chadder?

Thanks
G
