I am surprised to discover that I am not alone. I thought my post indicating my interest in the new Vette would result in negative comments on this forum.

I am not sure what color Vette I'll buy.

My respect to fellow -Z- owners.

I know, its kinda gutsy on here. But I love my Z and will be keeping it I'm still gonna build up my motor and do turbo. But I'm not gonna mess with the motor on the vette.

I want to get one to, but not until it's 3rd year out However, with the Infinity GTR supposedly being released around that time, I will have a hard time deciding.

Been there, done that... Next...

My buddy and I track our cars a lot. he has a Z06. I can take most Vette coupes but, unless your running FI or just get behind a lousy driver you will not take a Z06. We have alot of fun at the stop lights though. we keep prettty much even, but the big ol'V8 wins every time. Let's hope that Santa leaves a Procharger under the tree for Zippy this Christmas!

I raced a C5 vette. We did 3 pulls from like 40mph to about 100 or so...his bumper never got ahead of mine. we were dead even...since then i just put a crank pulley on. i raced a sean hyland mustang with 405whp and he only pulled a car length on me...i thought i wanna gonna get raped a new as*hole.

You encountered two people that can't drive.

Something that is dynoing 405... vs. your car that is laying down MAYBE 255 WILL get stomped.

I don't care about what's faster so much as what's funner to drive?

I think the Z is more fun than a corvette.

If I was primarily concerned about speed, I would've gotten one of those dodge SRT's and put a big turbo on it with nitrous or a mustang or something like that - or get a used muscle car

hell for $40k you can get a used viper with like 7500 miles on it

for the same price you can get a used drag racer that does the quarter mile in like 8 sec

I don't think it's as fun though overall cause those cars either lack day to day drivability, break all the time, feel old, don't look as nice, not street legal etc.

The Z is great cause it's not too expensive, there's tons of mods out there, it looks great, it handles great, it's decently fast, there's not a million out on the road (yet) and it'll probably last a long time without major problems

a z against a z06 is like running a stock z against a turbo z. about the same difference in hp.

Have you driven a Vette at a track day? ther are few things more fun to drive than Z06 Yes they are American, and no I am not a particular fan of them (in terms of wanting to own one), but respect is due...it's an amazing package they give you.

Given the Viper pricing now, those things are venerable bargains and absolutely impossible to beat on a track day...throw a set of coilovers and R compunds on a Viper GTS or Z06 and its game over even for a substantially modded Z.
