I wouldn't be able to go that fast.
The coefficient of drag would be a little too high given the large load of **** in my pants after the wheelie!

Can someone please answer this question for me...I've heard that the R7 is/one of the best handling bikes out there. That was in '99, but I'm sure there has to be something new and better (handling wise)-is there? Has anyone riden an R7 and can comment about it?

I've yet to experience it myself on my home track, but I would say on paper it looks to be definintely faster on a road course. I don't give a crap about straight line acceleration (although I'm sure it's faster there too). IMHO anybody can pull the trigger in a straight line. Braking, cornering and managine the performance envelope on a road course is where the action is at for me. It separates the men from the boys...

Performance motorcycles advance every year, and especially in the last 3 years the technology has trickled down from GP and World SBK to the point that the bikes you can get in the showroom are literally as fast and capable as the Superbikes and even GP bikes from 10 years ago. Former World Champion Kevin Schwantz has said several times that the latest stock GSX-R 1000's are faster than the Factory Superbikes that he used in the late 80's to win Daytona. The new AMA Superstock class uses basically showroom bikes with slicks, upgraded shocks/fork internals, full exhaust and engine mapping and the top riders are nearly matching the full Superbike times.
Answer: ANY of the 2004 Literbikes (and maybe some 600s) will leave a stock R7 for dead on a track (given the same rider skill).
