technosquare does an ecu reflash that raises it to 7100 and removes the speed limiter

I wish the consult II could increase the rev limit. Has anyone looked into this before?

Also, does anyone else notice that their tach is off? When I measure the RPM signal directly from the Greddy RPM adaptor, I am about 120rpm less than what my tach reads at idle. Do you think Nissan does this as a safety precaution against overevving? So essentially, when your tach read 6600rpm, you are only doing 6400rpm or so? I noticed this on dyno runs too. i tell the guy to stop at 6500rpm, but the dyno is only measuring 6300rpm.

Has anyone bounced the tach off the rev limiter to confirm the reading? My guess is that the rev limite kicks in when the tach read 6700-6750 RPM. Since I have a TT, I dont want to try that experiment..since it cuts fuell...which isnt too healthy for an F/I car at redline....unless you like seeing rods poping out of your block.

So Technosquare is the only thing you can get.

The only way to raise it is to have Technosquare do it ....or have the dealer use ...Consult.....I dont know if the dealer would do it though

you could use a fuel cut controller, but then you would not have a rev limiter at all and no fuel map for it. the safest way is a reflash. the best way is a stand alone ecu

You cannot do it with consult. Technosquare does our flashes.

Mine seems to be off by 80 as my limiter kicks in at 7120 per consult and dynographs . . .but it could just be that the sampling is off. Close enough for me, if it is really only 7120.

I wasnt sure on the Consult being able to. I wish my tach was only off by 80rpms.......500 is bad

If I raise the rev limiter on my car would it add HP or would I have to get cams and other mods to get HP out of a ecu Flash?
Right now I have injen intake and I am about to order Borla TD exhaust. Should i get cams instead? and also how hard is it to install cams by yourself? I have friends that have done it before but they had pushrod V8s.

you would likely make less power at higher rpms, until you get a plenum/headers/cams. cams are not diy unless you work at a shop with access to tools and have done them before. i encourage you to do other mods first as the cams are very expensive for minimal gains ~2000 for 20whp

Factory tachs are off on just about every car, same as speedos.

only way to find out would be to get an EXACT RPM of the tire, it would have to be off the ground, and pegged at redline with some sort of sensor to get a perfect RPM of the driveshaft or if its the tire, youd have to know the exact radius for the RPM. then bring it back to find out the crank RPMs at that speed.

probably isnt worth it. but might explain why many auto's say they can shift at 7000rpm. perhaps the autos tachs are off by more than the manuals?
