Default Flywheels and Clutches : Please Help

My car is going in for a tranny replacement and the guys said they would install whatever clutch and flywheel I bring em at no additional cost. So.....

Which one do I get? If you have a Tilton, JWT, Stillen or Nismo please post what you think. I need some streetability as this is my only car and it will be driven in rain and snow(maybe a couple times in a year). Please post asap as I need to order soon if I decide to do this!

HELP!!!!

Thanks,
Andy.

i say JWT flywheel, its significantly lighter than stock and more streetable than the tilton, the only thing i noticed in my friends car was that it has a faint chatter and idle, no biggie! as far as clutch goes i have no idea

Not with Tilton. Others, I think, are okay.

You might want to check out Concept Performance they have the JWT fly/Clutch combo for $785.0 I believe.. The clutch is good for FI if you decide to go that route..and has a clamping force of around 1150 vs the stock of 850. You can use the stock clutch with the JWT Flywheel.I think the flywheel go's for $400.0..Keep us posted on the results of the mod..

Cool, thanks for the info. I may go with the JWT with a stock clutch then. This would be very streetable with some performance gain, right?

You may also want to look into Spec clutches. Spec makes some excellent applications for all cars and they have some fantastic clutches that hold excellent power and does not sacrifice driveability.

I sell LOTS of these clutches to the Supra and MR2 groups and they have all had fantastic results.

I have included a link that will take you to the Spec Clutch section for the 350Z of our site. On there you will see that they hold anywhere from 430ft lbs for the Stage 1 all the way up to a whopping 720fl lbs for the Stage 5. A lightened flywheel is also an option they offer as well.

For an additional 80 dollars on any clutch purchase, you can get the lightweight clutch option which lightens the pressure plate by an additional 25% to reduce rotational weight even more.

Default Chro-Moly

I saw a chro-moly fly wheel somewhere that looked pretty good (cheaper than the JWT by $50 or so). Chro-moly isn't supposed to warp over time like aluminum does, and is lighter than stock. I do NOT own this flywheel, just throwing some options out there.

the benefit of a chromoly flywheel is that it can be resurfaced pretty much an infinite amount of times, as with an alluminum flywheel you have to by a new contact surface, its not like its a big deal though, they cost under 50 dollars

as I said in the IM...

Any flywheel that can be used with the stock clutch can be used with the NISMO CLUTCH / JWT CLUTCH and vice versa...

the best performing flywheel and clutch combo for the daily driver IMHO is the JWT FLYWHEEL and NISMO CLUTCH...

the nismo clutch calmping foce is not way to much more then it should be before daily driving is effected...

the Nismo clutch is also lighter then the JWT resulting in faster revving when combined with a lighter weight flywheel.. (JWT Flywheel)...

I like my JWT flywheel & clutch combo.
As someone already mentioned, there is some light chatter at idle.
The clutch grabs like a son of a pup, and is VERY streetable.
Just my .02

JUN flywheel is chro-moly I beleive. Less warping means a more balanced flywheel and therefor less or no chatter. Id get it if it could fit some FI clutches, but im not sure if it can. Does anyone know if the JUN FW would work with maybe a clutchmaster stage4?
