Is there a way that my plenum hasnt read into the comp. yet? Or is that even true?

And are there "freak" Z's out there?

This really pisses me off and makes me wanna sell my $hit...

its not a shocker, you ran into a good manual driver and though those are nice mods, they offset your handicap at best. race him 5 times and I bet you win atleast 2 times when he doesnt get a perfect run.

where were you racing? On a track? If thats the case, he might have had a way better launch than you.

Also, if you were just street racing, or racing from a roll... were you in auto, or auto-manual mode? If you just mashed on the gas, your car will shift gears sooner than he would have.

We were on the Highway from a 30 punch, i had it in auto-manual. I kinda hit the rev. limiter both times going into sec. but i had him by half a car the 1st race, and the sec. we were side by side, at the most i had a bumper on him.

up top, the 6 gears in the manual will give him a clear edge. and you removed his chance to screw the launch up.

The first thing i do after installing any mod is reseting my ecu. In fact its easy to do put the key in the ignition turn it but not on and wait 3 seconds then after the 3 seconds push the pedal hard all the way down 5 times within five seconds so do it fast. Then release the pedal for 7 seconds the press down and hold it for about 10 or less seconds. When the light flashes wait for it to stop and that resets the ecu. Then shut the car off wait 5 seconds or so and start it up. In fact it works better than disconnceting the battery because the ecu has a back up battery, and the back up can take about 24 hours to decharge in fact.

I had over 3 nissan cars a 1996 maxima, a 2002 maxima, and now my 2003 350z. Whenever i did any mods on any of my cars i always reset the ecu. A Nissan dealer told me it was a good idea so im going with it.

I have a example for ya my dad with a 2003 maxima put on a intake and made the check engine light go on. It didnt go off until he reset the ecu. So if the ecu doesnt calibrate itself to shut it off how do you really know it is going to for parts if your not reseting it also.
