I would rather go with the APS one that will come out soon or the PE one. They like a better quality and not that much either.

Wow, that's crazy. I might have to get one just so I can install 6.5 quarts. I wonder if I'd need more with the turbos and stuff...

guys everything ARC is expensive, it's no surprise....their oil caps are $100 for gods sake

the idea was not to make a race spec pan with baffles, as there is no evidence yet that a Z even needs something that elaborate (unless its a full on race car). Everything ARC makes is factory spec and beyond..the welds, the materials used are second to none. Plus, unlike other "JDM brands" (and yes, I use that term very loosely), everything ARC makes is done in house in Japan. Labor and material costs in Japan are much higher than they are in China, where loads of JDM comapnies sub contract out to (many companies, which are big names in the industry do this). ARC does not, and as such, the prices and quality reflects it.

I understand about ARC's pricing and quality.. I don't really have a problem paying for quality.. but as a guy who wants to track the car hard, I at least want a baffled oil pan, if not a dry sump.

Moroso's pans are fairly nice, priced well, and nearly all of them have at least a rudimentary baffling system. I've been considering contacting them to see if they would produce a baffled high-capacity oil pan, or a dry sump oil pan (or both ).

Thanks for bringing us the news about the ARC products. Even if it may not be the best solution for me personally, it's great to see product diversity.

Baffles help prevent the oil from sloshing around too much inside the pan during hard cornering.
