JWT fly/cth combo here with many Dyno pulls of over 400whp and 12sec 1/4 passes and no signs of problems yet. I think is very cost effective.

Default Announcement

a carbon/carbon clutch and lightweight fly for under $1500 would definately get my vote.

best streetable combo (for now, :P ) is the JWT Flywheel and NISMO Clutch

best semi streetable is the TILTON set up listed above... and this set up will handle over 900HP to the wheels...
Why is the JWT flywheel with Nismo clutch a better set-up that using the JWT clutch?

NISMO clutch weights a couple pounds less than the JWT... over all lighter weight...

remember the clutch bolts to the flywheel...

Jason, this is interesting. Is this a personal idea, or something you have heard from somewhere else? If it's really the case, I'm sure I would modify the pedal travel or my shifting.

personal idea...

I also remember driving my car with the stock clutch and it would be hard to jam into gear and then when i lifted up the clutch a little it was easy to get into gear...

how is it that pressing the clutch pedal down fully can affect shifting in any way?

if shifting were easier with the pedal half pressed, I would think that you're just helping the synchros... (same theory behind double clutching)

well, if you press in the clutch too far, it will re-engage the clutch...

I've never heard of that before? Are you sure? I'm not trying to be argumentative here... I just want to know. Can you explain how this is possible?

ok... if you're losing pressure at max depression... I could see that happening... but that's the only way i can see that being possible... and if that were the case... I'd call it broken.

So how far down does the stock setup need to be pressed in order to start or shift?

sit in an empty parking lot... nothing infront of you...

press the pedal to the ground in first gear... slowly lift... you will find the point where it starts to grab, and you only need to press down about 1/4" past the point where it starts to grab...

this is just MY OPINION... you dont need to go by it, but try it out...
