Default 5k - stay n/a

I've got 5 thousand to spend on my z...i want to stay normally aspirated...but I'm looking for advice.

See my sig for what I've already done...and I want to juice but not for a couple of years.

Your advice on mods and brands is appreciated.

Save up 2k more and get the AEBS 4.3L stroker kit. You will make far more power than any other 5k worth of NA mods.

The same things the majority of N/A guys have. Crawford or Kinetix plenum(preferrably Crawford if you are going to FI), A good set of headers( I have Xerds) unless your FI is going to be TT. Once again Crawford seems to be the headers of choice(I think) Injen SES cat back exhaust is an excellent choice, crank pulley,Technosquare flash of ECU,resonated test pipes, blah blah blah blah blah.......sorry I have seen these mods in so many sigs I got a little nutty

pushing urself up to 400hp at the wheels naturally aspirated with a V6 would be awesome. the most cost effective (and bad @$$) way is the stroker kit. ur 5g's will burn up will quick and u wont come close to 300hp at the wheels with normal stuff.

Here's what I would do with 5k to spend NA.

Crawford Plenum Price : $395.00
Crawford Headers Price : $1195.00
Crawford Hi-Flow Cats : $449.50
Nismo Camshafts : $1,289.95 @ mynismo.com
Exhaust of your choice : Roughly $900, give or take.
Technosquare Reflash for $500.
UR Crank Pulleys $204.95 @ mynismo.com

That puts you at about $4934.40

Or...save a little more and get:

STROKER KIT.

All this without installation, of course.

i would actually get the xerd headers which include test pipes since their long tube and would shave off half the cost of crawford headers and cats ( so long as you dont have emissions)

4.3l V6. Id think thatd be... I donno. seems like thatd have some negatives to it. like top end. if the intake supposedly is already starving it and losing top end hp, whats an extra .8L gonna do?

I'd do something similar, but here's my choice:

Tomei 268 cams: $1,200 @ Z1 Performance
Crawford Headers: $1,195
Test Pipes: $150 (my350z classifieds)
Technosquare Reflash: $500
Tilton 16lb clutch/flywheel: $1,350
UR Crank Pulley: $204.95
APS Plenum: $375 (approximated, comes out in September).

Total: $4,974.95 That's without labor...

the AEBS kit installed is going to be nearly TWICE of what he's asking to spend... there is no way to make good hp gains on this car w/o going F/I (after spending nearly $2,500 for 20 hp, I'm done playing with N/A) - I'm going to do the Vortech tuner kit (w/ PE 380cc injectors, Walbro fuel pump, ECU reflash & E-manage to tune) and should have everything I need for around $5,500-6,000 installed/tuned and should be around 380 to the wheels running the 3.13 pulley w/ my current mods...

Default Who has AEBS kit...

Ask Charles from CJ Motorsports. I believe he is installing the 8.5:1 kit on his TT motor now. OK, it's not the n/a version, but he should easily be able to comment on quality of components, labor to install, etc. He posts under 'phunk' in the FI forum pretty regularly. I know for my 5g's, low-boost FI is the way for me. Good luck!

And if you are lucky, after 5K, you'll make 300 hp at the motor. Spend another 2.5K on a supercharger and get 400hp...Uhmmmm?

if i where you i would do the rsr exhaust with y pipe and test pipes with dc sports headers and jwt popcharger...then do cosmetic mods and save $ for when you wanna do nitrous...bolt on mods with a 100 shot can get you into the low 12s...

Take $2k and invest it -- take the remaining $3k and go to Skip Barber Racing School.

You'll get faster (and safer) on the track, and your engine will still be NA.
