just a quickie before i buy....if its installed buy someone that specializes in Z's (Palm Nissan, FL, has thier own perforamance shop)...will the crank/pulley be reliable i.e. not break? and second how will it affect my warranty? if i get the pulley in black can i fool someone by the naked eye and say 'I dont have pullies'?

They shouldn't affect your warranty at all. Check with your local Nissan dealership just to be sure. Or better yet, have your local Nissan dealership install it.
I had my pulleys installed by Performance Nissan and they said it wouldn't affect my warranty

There is a VERY HIGH chance that the dealer will void your warranty on the engine if you run this pulley. Not all dealers are the same, but most would happily void your warranty on the engine if they see the pulley.

Murrman,

Can you tell the difference on your pulleys? I've though about getting either intake or pulleys most people say go with the pulleys since the intake wont add much power other than the whistle.

I live in West Covina about 5 minute drive from performance nissan. also what did you pay forthe pulleys?

Regarding the warranty issue, remember Magnusson vs. Moss.

They don't add that much power, but they do a bit of low end punch. Probably about 5-6 hp. They look very nice next to my Injen CAI.

I looked around a lot. Ebay had them for $340 and Perfomance Nissan had them $325. I had to pay tax but I least I didn't have to wait for shipping.

Yes. The crank pulley is the one you need, but having all 3 looks great.

I don't think so. Unless that person knew a lot about pulleys or engines.

The engine will rev quicker and smoother.
No problems, except that you'll want to drive your Z more and faster than before.

there can be problems with aftermarket pullies, especially since they usually are never balanced with your motor, and they dont have any harmonic balancers in them. You can have crank failure or problems later down the line.

Jeff and Jason at Perfomance Nissan highly recommended these UR pulleys and they said that the Z's engine is internally balanced.
They even said that it could lengthen the life of the engine because of the lighter weight of the pulleys.

but does it have a harmonic balancer?? an engine can give off noise that can cause vibrations, its not something we can hear, but you can get the effect of it. It can cause alot of premature wear because of the vibrations. It can also cause crank failure over time.

I'm not a pro when it comes to harmonic balancers. We should ask Jeff or Jason about that stuff. They are the pros and with what I've seen on their cars, they should know.

I'm suprised that they haven't responded to this thread by now.

Hold on a sec. It Sunday and they are probably out crusin in their Z's right now.
