Default Question For Those With Wideband Air/Fuel Gauge

i just finished installing mine and i noticed something.

whenever i let off the gas at high rpms the gauge goes super lean to where none of the led's are lit. then it goes back to normal range.

is that normal for the guage to bounce off like that?

thanks

It's Normal. Standard EFI tuning, all EFI cars do that . The fuel is actually turned off when you release the gas at higher rpms. It will restart fuel at whatever the preset rpm is. Mainly for emissons and fuel mileage.

Yeah, mine jumps right up to 20 when I let off the gas but only for a second or two. No worries.

doesnt that damage the engine over long periods of time?

its basically going lean on a daily basis even for a few seconds a day.

No it won't hurt the engine since there is little or no fuel burning. The engine is just spinning.

Exactly. Your foot is off of the gas pedal so no fuel to ignite (prematurely or otherwise) so no detonation and no damage.
