There's the XtremeMotorwerks 350 Z with a twin turbo RB26 running in NDRA, some IDRC, and NHRA.
Then there is the Performance Motorsport out of Smithtown NY running a Twin Turbo VQ35 going to be in NDRA.
Those are the 2 i'm aware of but there might be more..

there are no VQ motors making anywhere near 1800 hp......hell, I have yet to see even a 2JZ on methanol making that
I agree on the power figures. As the owner of a nearly 600 hp car (my other Z), I can say it is a chore driving the thing around and getting the power to the ground. I find myself driving it around at 10 psi more than anything, as its still fast as hell, but I can accelerate in 4th gear at 100 mph and not have to worry about it walking over 2 lanes of traffic

If you look at the post made by Turbonetics under Single Turbo Kit, on the 6th page. You will see that they say there car will be at SEMA in November. It is a 6sec Twinturbo VQ with 1500 HP.

Actually my question was not about how streetable a 6-900rwhp 350Z would be.
It's kind of like rock climbing. It's there so you do it. That analogy holds true in the automotive world. Think about it for a bit; how many really strange things have you seen done to cars for the sake of "doing it"...
I've seen 800 hp station wagons... Monster Trucks anyone? Motorcycles powered by 427's?!
I fully agree that building a 1000hp+ sports car is beyond usable. However, the question remains... Why haven't I seen anyone try to do it with the VQ?
Thanks to you all that kept this in perspective and brought up some really good points.
I have driven some very scary cars in my days. Ever tried out a 240Z with a blown 383 engine (aluminum block, heads and radiator 550rwhp)? I have and in 4th gear you would go sideways when you went WOT. Fun, yes. Practicable, not a chance.
I quite probably should have used a different method to start the conversation. Rather than comparing it to the monster supra's out there, I should have asked "When do you think somebody will build a 800-900hp 350z?" Perhaps that would have stimulated the conversation in a more possitive manner.

I think you will see some in the next couple of months..
I just dont think that many people are not into super high HP anymore. I remember when i was younger, thats all i wanted. Like probably most people on these boards we have grown a little wiser (emphasizing little).. and know that high HP on the street can have many reprecussions.
I know that when i pick my Z up sometime next year it will be blessed with around 550rwhp and incredible handling..
