I don't think it'll make a difference. The LSD oil has an additive for the clutch packs in a diff with LSD.

Our limited slips do not have clutch plates, it's a Viscous limited slip. As far as I know VLSD's do not require the friction additives that are required with a clutch type limited slip. So as far as I know, our limited slips require normal oil, probably the same oil as an open diff. I will consult the service manual and get back to you.

Yeah, there is only one oil listed in the service manual. Funny thing, our trannys take 75w95 but our diffs take 80w90. What's even funnier is that I've never heard of any of these 2 oil weights, they are very out of the ordinary, probably designed for our car specifically.

du-oh...thats right...it doesn't list diff oils for the different diffs..thanks alininger...and BTW...if your hoping swapping in fresh gear box oil will reduce tranny whine..it doesn't...don't have major whine...but its there...(still!)

Take it to the dealer, I don't have a tranny whine, or have heard a z with one.

I don't believe I'm the only Z with "tranny whine"...waiting to see if it is more consistant though...as I said hoping fresh fluid would help...annoying beacuse its hard to pin down...
