So I'm trying to figure out... do we need 2 cans since the motor is in a "V" configuration? Is it a better idea to buy a "T" and run all of the hoses from the motor into the can?

Hmmm... just pulled that hose between the crankcase vent and the plenum. There is oil in the hose. I'm installing the can right now. Thanks for this write-up. It's been very helpful.

You can install more than one can, actually up to three or so they figure you could use on some particular cars.

Anyways you will only have on PCV, it vents the entire crankcase and therefore but it just so happens that it comes out on onse side as opposed to the center of the engine giving the idea that you maybe need one for each side. But nope, the one PCV does both/entire crank case.

As for running all your vacuum lines through the one catch can, i'm not sure how to comment on this but to be safe wouldn't recommend it. They likely run the vacuum lines in parralel format for a reason, i think this may cause problems (you could try and find out forsure of course lol).

Default oil catch can install

Just got the system and I'm still (very) confused with the parts provided and the connection points. The can has two connection points, at first I thought you remove the existing vent hose (not exactly sure which hose) and connect to each connection on the can - sort of installing the can inline on the two points where the existing hose was connected.

Now the parts - it appears they provide a type of hose plug (the chrome end cap) this would be used to drain the can - however how could you connect each side of the hose at the two existing connections???????????????

If the can goes inline on the two existing connections then how do you use the chrome plug???????????? And last how do you empty the can without disconnecting any of the hoses???????????

Thanks to anyone / everyone on a reply. BLGL1800

Default Catch Can - done

It appears I do not need a reply. Up early AM and found the right DIY info.
Not that good on the computer, but got lucky and found it.
I guess I'll reply to myself, but thank all the great photo's found on this site showing the install (I was looking for both ends of the vent).

Great site, thanks to all.

Only the engine cover needs to be removed. I purchased the Cusco catch can and I'm having a problem trying to find space for the can location. As in one of the pictures on this thread it looks like it needs to be installed around the air cleaner side. I would have prefered it on the other side by the fluid resevoirs - shorter hose runs and more of a direct connection (but the radiator hose is in the way).
If I was to order the can from the start I would purchase a smaller unit.

This is a G35 but same thing. This angle shows the connections a little better. Sorry I don't have a larger picture of the engine bay.
Is that the 5Zigen Catch Can???

how did you figure out what sixe ss lines, and how do they attatch to the catch can? Also, where can you get the ss lines from? I'm about to order an NRG catch can, and want to upgrade the lines.

Thanks for the help

Do some looking on summitracing.com Rob. you should buy the nicer Earl's hoses, the Peform-o-Flex. They're kind of expensive, but they're nice as hell. You just need a sizing chart to find out the size -AN hoses you need. All I know is the upper rad. hose is size -24 AN.
