Hmm that's what I assumed originally. I didn't check the stub axle lengths. What threw me off was that the 2nd diff I bought taken from a wrecked stock 5AT was a 3.5 with also the same height measurements to what was in my car with the 3.7 (both to spec of a VLSD model). Looks like I'll have to sell it and buy the QDF13L then.

Cheers.

I bought a stock LSD and want to install this in my base open diff. I am pretty sure I have a good handle on everthing exept the side flanges or axle stubs that go into the diff housing.

Are they different between the open diff and the LSD?

Yes, if you bought a factory VLSD and you have an open diff, you need VLSD axle stubs.

is this part number a kit for the whole diff or do i need (2) of these, one for each side?

are there any seals that need replacing at the drive shaft and axles?

should i go with OEM ring bolts or just go to home depot for something of the same spec? what grade?

if i mark my original ring, will i still need to worry about adjusting backlash? i still need to read up on what the heck backlash is but it is a big unknown that is making this install sound a bit more complicated

thanks!

when you guys did your diff installs did you mark the bearing caps in their correct locations? it says to do that but when I did mine I didn't mark so I just slid the diff back in , seems to turn fine , do you guys think this will be a problem and if so how can I fix it if I never marked them when I pull the diff out , to know where to put them back in.
