How do you adjust and degree cam on vq35hr
I need help on putting a cam in my car, i have a vq35hr and there seems to be no adjustable cam gears for theses engines, so when putting a cam in these cars how do you make adjustments if needed when advancing or regarding the cam, or is that not needed on these cars? I want to be able to cam my car and be able to use the most of the cam’s potential so how do you degree a cam in the hr engines?

Bit of a dead thread, but it’s a slow day.
The engine has variable valve timing (cam control) that uses an electromagnetic retarder to adjust the cam timing on the fly. Any “degreeing” is done in the engine control software and is tuned against load, VE, rpm, etc. Gone are the days of degreed cam gears like on Honda Ds and Bs, 2Js, SRs, etc.
Now timing an LS, that’s a whole different and wholly more old school job…
If you’re adding cams, budget in engine control (UpRev, etc.), dyno time, and tuning.
