The Official LS Swap Info/Questions Thread

I'm still unsure if I want to keep the stock cluster or swap it out.. If I keep it, I'd wouldn't want the check engine light on all the time.
It I delete the stock ECM and cluster and replace the cluster with say a Stack cluster, are there any functions that would be lost that aren't normal standard functions of the gauges?
Edit: I think I'll keep the stock cluster so I can maintain the small things like the airbag light.

About how much $ would you say you have in the LS swap? and on average what would it cost to do one? Is there a link to a thread that would give a breakdown. I have about 10 to 15k to spend could I do this properly?

I did next to all the work my self other than the tune ans rebuild as I don't have the right tools or knowledge to measure turning the crank etc and I spent 16 k if money is a issue or trying to do a budget build I don't recoomend this swap I recommend a built vq .... that being said most of us that have completed this swap are either drifters or we just have too Much money on our hands if you are contemplating the swap to be a drag car or a street racer then just build your vq

Money is really not the issue. I have been viewing youtube videos and good lord the power/ bulletproofness is what is drawing me towards this.... Plus the sound kinda get a chub when i hear these videos.... SO are we talking 20k or more like 30k to do it right? And recommendations on who to contact in SOCAL?? FYI really thinking about doing a blown one also....

#4 on the overall drag list is an LS powered 350z with half the power of the top three and less than most of the remaining cars on the top 25 list...

Get new gauges and a standalone relay/fuse box. Keep the motor separated from the chassis of the car and you won't have to run the Z ecu. Everything will still be functional locking/unlocking, windows, turn signals, horn and etc.

Seems that several of us came over from F/I builds and moved to this swap. I miss the ~600whp of my built TT setup, but being able to drive the car whenever I want and not have it break has been worth the sacrifice. Besides, the power is there to be had if I wanted to get back to that level.
When I look at the big picture of driveability, maintenance and uniqueness I like the LS swap vs my TT setup, but both setups sound sexy as hell IMO.
