Okay guys,

First I would like to thank this thread, so much useful information.

I've been looking into doing a v8 swap for the Z this winter and had a couple of questions.

1. Would there be any issues running an infinity AEM ecu?

2. I was planning on using my stock 5at transmission, is there an ecu for the transmission?

Thank you in advance!!

1. if your motor has a 24x reluctor, the series 7 Infiniti has a plug and play harness for it, if you have a 58x then the series 5 has an option. So yes.

2. I have not heard of any available belhousing adapters for a stock auto trans. As for electronics, search the aftermarket z world to see if there is an aftermarket trans controller.

I tried to read through this thread to find an answer and used search to no avail. Have pitty on me, ive been at this one thing for weeks.

How in the hell can i get one of my two ecus (running in parallel) to control my oem fans? I can build another set of circuits to run them off the ls6 ecu, but i have these 3 wonderful fan relays in the stock box and two ecus that see coolant temp.

Thanks a bunch.

Hey Guys,

I just picked up a 2003 350Z with an LS1 swap.

I have a few issues I want to resolve:

1. The remote central locking does not appear to work.

When I press the unlock button the car doesn't unlock (the indicators do not flash either).

I have replaced the batteries on both FOB's and have tried to re-program them to the car but the attempts did not work.

Can anyone suggest what I could do to try diagnose what in particular isn't working in the remote system.

2. The swap came without A/C however I have read it is possible.

If I purchase a 350Z compressor + a custom bracket to mount to the LS1 motor as well as getting custom tubing created - what other issues will need to be address to get aircon installed?

3. The RPM gauge was never hooked up or is just not working - is this possible to wire up or is an aftermarket gauge required?

Thanks for your replies guys it will be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Ryan

Someone got a harness that enabled a working OEM Tacho. Most of us are using aftermarket gauges I think though. Personally I use a speedhut tach with shift lights and love it.

Does your car still have the oem nissan ECU?

Just so others that read through the thread, Here is my response to your PM on the air con question.

I did have aircon for a while but took out the setup and sold it since the car is now track only.

I used a GM Compressor with a CTS V belt layout.

Other parts needed was a trinary pressure switch, various aluminum tubing
double crimped hose connectors
air con hose
an oem 350z condensor and filter dryer
condensor 90 elbow fittings with o ring type screw on connections
AN fittings and b nuts
a relay
High and low pressure ports

You will need a soldering iron, A/C crimping tool, tubing benders, Flaring tools and various wrenches.

I used the Air con light on the hvac control to activate the relay that wnet to the trinary switch and then to the compressor to kick it on. The rest of the HVAC controls were oem and done at the heater core..

Typically we leave that open to our customers.

There are no pre made exhaust available on the market, but doing a magnaflow, borla, bassani or any other brand muffler should sound good.

As far as transmissions go any LS1 style or GTO style t56 trans will work

Any benefits to keeping my Osiris Uprev Tuner License and cable that's currently on my stock ECU?

Will I be able to disable enough codes to shut the check engine light off?

cant find anything about this, but can you use the stock locations for ls accessories or do you need to relocate them?

Started filling up the engine with oil and added 7 qts of oil and the dipstick was not reading any oil so I added another qt barely showed anything then added another qt same thing just barely registers it has oil. I have added 9 qts so far anyone else encounter this? Its a LS6 with the sikky kit. I did add an oil cooler to the car.

When running an oil cooler you may need to add more than 7qts. We have had customers with oil coolers that have needed up to 10qts to completely fill their oiling systems. The best advice we have for you is to trust the dipstick. No matter what oil cooler or oiling system you have you can trust our dipstick.

If you would like you can post up some pictures of how the dipstick is installed so we can verify that it is installed correctly just in case.

Has anyone heard of these guys or used a harness from them? Not sure I can spot this CANbus translator they mention on their picture of the harness but... fully functioning stock gauges has my attention

Why is the Z Harness $1000 more than the other harnesses? Is that due to can bus?
