That's more likely the situation as some tranny's did have some grind issues etc.. But CD009's are also widely known to be able to hold very good HP an torque. Alot of guys on here from the 2006 and up era were blowing motors left and right @ HP levels well over 500HP all while the trannys held up.. Guys on clublex and supraforums are starting to go this route as they are more affordable then V160's and also 6 speed..

Collins offer two methods. You either get the crank / flywheel spacer and the thick adaptor plate or get the clutch / flywheel ket he offers with the other adaptor plat (it should be thinner)
With the first one you will have a problem, the engine will hit the radiator fans shroud and you need to move it to the front of the rad.
The other one is kinda pricey. Around $2000 for the ~650hp clutch kit.
The easier/cheapest method is to bolt the 2JZGTE Flywheel to VQ35 clutch and fabricate your own adaptor plate.

Unfortunately I have no way of making my own custom plate. So I'm kinda stuck with him making the adapter plate. Is it hard to move the fans to the front of the radiator

midz350z make sure you post pics of how the engine sits with ur custom motor mounts and how you make the tranny shifter shorter .. i believe the hardest part of the swap will be to make the shifter shorter to work .. when my friend swap his 2jz on the Z he used collins adapter plate and clutch and the stock 2jz motor mounts and the hardest part was to get the dimensions and make the tranny shifter shorter to be able to work... good luck man

There is only one way to shorten the shifter. Unless you're gonna shave the bell-housing.
