Default weight stock z rear hatch counterwt

If this is the counterwt, it weighs 1.5 lb (it was the only thing i could remove that looked like a weight):

Can you take a pic of where it was in the hatch? How did you get the plastic panels from the hatch off? Just pryed them like the rest of the stock panes?

Yep, that is it.

As for the inner panel, just gently pry it off from one side , then the other. Dont worry you cant miss it after taking off the panel.

Start up on each side by the window and work your way down toward the bottom of the hatch. i used a wooden paint stirrer filed down at one end.

Friend of mine removed this dead weight. He quickly found out after a 1 hour drive, it keeps the hatch from rattling, your car will sound like a Civic inside, not worth the small weight savings.

my car never even came with that thing...i went looking for it a few years ago and came to find out there was 4 holes for bolts with nothing bolted into them.
