Default really blue hid bulbs

Can anybody advise what is the best hid bulb that emits a bluish color. Similar to when you first turn on your headlights? Where can i buy them?

those would be the 8000k bulbs. they may look nice, but they really suck for visibility.

12000K bulbs. DEFINITELY NOT street legal. Not that you'd see that much on the street (at night) anyway

5500 K Sunny daylight around noon

5500-5600 K Electronic photo flash

I was going off of bulbs that are 12000K.... they display a purplish effect (that can be construed as midnight blue, if you like). The below are 12000K bulbs that are being sold by someone on eBay.

But honestly the only companies that make the 12000 K bulbs are cheap ones. Its honestly not worth it to spend that kind of money on it

Agreed. Plus they wouldn't be very functional for night time driving.

THE ONLY thing i can think of is the blue overlays people put on thier cars. As for anything else. I dont think there is.

You best bet is to get 6000K bulbs.

This is what you want...

I have spent WAY too much time researching an HID bulb upgrade.

The most well rounded replacements are Philips D2S/R 6000K. They give you a bit more aqua and you don't lose much vision at night.

If you asked this question for the same reason I did then you saw an Acura TL or Mercedes cruising and you kept getting a prurple flash. Two things are happening here:

a) Different projector lenses

b) The car was travelling over bumps and the cutoff (which is quite purple on our cars was) pointed at your eyes.

I agree, I would keep the stock hid bulbs and do a retro project. Im in the process of swapping the stock projectors and retroing a set of valeo's.

I aimed mine up some (not much). It helped me see down the road further and it also makes it look more blue looking head on. I have had several Z people ask what bulbs I use. lol

I remember reading a while back about adjusting the lights with a screwdriver.

Does someone have a link to the thread with that information? I think I may do like Vandy and just adjust them slightly upward
