Unhappy what is the easiest way to upgrade my headlight for base model to real HID set??

Hi, everyone:

I thought OEM HID headlight kit can directly plug into my base model Z, until I removed everything and then found out....... PLUGS ARE DIFFERENT.

I need you guys' help here.

First, can I still use this kid and find a way to put the HID on my car?? For example, rewireing the kid or what??

Second, Just give up the OEM set and buy after market parts?? If this is the choice, which brand and model will you recommend??

Please help me out. I spent $600 for the OEM headlight Kit, seriously dont want to waste any more money to try something doesnt work. Sincerely appreciate your guys' help. .

An OEM kit can be made to work relatively easily. PM user Jun on this board for a detailed PDF on how to accomplish this. Good luck

Hi, yobri:

Thanks for your response. You made me feel live again. But this morning I just came back from the Nissan dealership, actually, they removed everything for me(sorry to lie to you all), and also they showd me the difference between two plugs. They said if I insist on putting these kit on, they need to replace all the wire on my car, and it will take another 10 hours to finish it. By the way, they still charged me $160 for nothing. No, $160 to let me know two plugs are different.
So, if you are really sure that it can be done, please give me a direction to reach that PDF file. This time, I will do it by myself. Lousy dealership..........
Thank you so so so so much.

I've done it with Jun's instructions as well as many others that have purchased his OEM kits. You'll have to PM him, so that he can send you the ~5mb PDF download

Thanks a lot. yobri.

I sent the message to Jun already. I cant wait to see my Z with white HID headlight. But about the dealership............. again, I dont know what else I can say to them.

Last time they did the alignment for me, then my steering wheel was still crooked. This time charged me $160 for nothing. It it my fault. I am not supposed to go there anymore. Damn.

I did the oem route. This is all that you need:

The only thing you have to do is cut your h7 connectors off and solder the plugs that comes with the ballasts, after that everything is straight foward. I spent around $250 for the oem upgrade and did the job in about 30 minutes and another 15 to get the alignment just right. Let me know if you have any questions.

Soldering isn't "necessary" although it'll definitely provide you with a better peace of mind... Jun's instructions illustrate this process. My HIDs have been perfect so far
